Chamber Golf Tournament a Hit

The Chamber’s Annual Golf Tournament was a success on June 1st at the Ridges Golf & Country Club with 76 golfers participating and 55 members sponsoring or donating prizes for the event.

Chamber Staff Participate in Local, State, and Regional Conferences

Chuck Mason Jr., Chamber Board Chair, led a delegation to the U.S. Chamber ACCESS Small Business Summit in Washington DC May 11th-13th. Participants included Larry and Debbie England with Cartridge World, a nominee for the Small Business of the Year Award. Participants also visited Senator Alexander, Senator Corker, and Congressman Roe. In mid-June, Heather Clever completed her 4th year of U.S. Chamber Institute, a four year program for Chamber professionals that focuses on key areas of Chamber growth.

Great American Cleanup Successful!

The 2009 Great American Cleanup was held Saturday, April 18th in Johnson City and Washington County.  Over 500 volunteers helped pick up over 22 tons of litter from our streets, streams, parks and homes.

Great American Cleanup Essay Contest Winners Announced!

Keep Washington County Beautiful announced the winners of the 2008 Great American Cleanup Essay contest at their June 10th Membership Breakfast.  This year over 1,500 students participated in the event.  The winners in the 4-5th grade level were:  Cassidy Hensley, Timothy Carroll, and Nathaniel Royce.  The winners in the 6-8th grade level were:  Emily Arrowood, John Miles, and Cynthia Dillow.

27th Annual Taste of Johnson City Scheduled

Mark your calendar for Monday, September 14th, 6:30-8:30pm, for the 27th Annual Taste of Johnson City. We will return to the JC Country Club for an evening of fine dining and beverage selections. Tickets for this event can be purchased beginning August 3rd for $40 per person.
